Sony has just released a new PS5 firmware update today that bumps the system software to version 22.01-05.50.00.08.
As it was already obvious from the minor increment to the software version, this one doesn’t appear to improve any major performance or resolve issues. There are no features implemented in this update. Instead, it is simply presented as improving the performance of the console.
PS5 Software Update 22.01-05.50.00.08
- This system software update improves system performance.
Here are the changes mentioned in the last major PS5 firmware update.
- If you’re using a TV that supports ALLM (auto low latency mode), you can adjust ALLM settings in Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > ALLM. If you select Automatic, your TV will automatically switch to low-latency mode while playing games. If you select Off, ALLM won’t be enabled, except during VRR (variable refresh rate) output. This system software update improves system performance.
