New PS5 DualSense Controller Update Released

Sony has released a new update for the PS5 DualSense controller today in addition to a system software update for the PS5.

The new update for the PS5 is officially released as software version 6.0. The full update version is 22.02-06.00.00.42-00.00.00.0.0 and it is around 1.086 GB of download.

Along with this update, there is also a prompt to update the DualSense controller. This will require the user to connect the controller to the PS5 with a USB cable.

Here are the changes for this new update for the controller.

  • Custom button assignments are now enabled on the passcode input screen.
  • We’ve updated the DualSense wireless controller device software to improve stability.

So the changelog mentions that it is mostly a stability update. In addition, it is now possible to implement custom button assignments on the passcode input screen.

PS5 update 6.0 brings in support for game lists, 1440p resolution, and more. The update is rolling out to all users worldwide.
