God of War Ragnarok Confirmed To Include Performance Mode On PS4 Pro

Sony Santa Monica has confirmed the resolution and frame rate for God of War Ragnarok on PS4 and PS5. Here’s what you need to know about it.

According to Sony Santa Monica Studio, God of War Ragnarok will support an unlocked frame rate on the PS4 Pro with a performance mode. This mode will run at an unlocked 30 FPS. It has a dynamic resolution that ranges from 1080p to 1656p. There is also a quality mode that locks the frame rate to 30 and runs at a dynamic resolution of 1440p to 1656p on the PS4 Pro. As for the standard PS4, the game will support 1080p at 30 FPS.

God of War Ragnarok will have a multitude of different graphics modes on the PS5. There are three performance modes and three quality modes. The default performance mode supports a 60 FPS target and runs at a dynamic resolution between 1440p to 2160p. The second performance mode supports a high framerate and can run at 1440p with an unlocked 60 FPS. The last performance mode is for those with a VRR (variable refresh rate) display and supports 1440p at unlocked 60 FPS.

As for the quality mode, the game will run at native 4K with a 30 FPS target in the default quality mode. It will run at 1800p to 2160p with the second quality mode that adds a 40 FPS target with a high frame rate. The last quality mode will unlock the performance of the game from 40 FPS and render at a resolution between 1800p to 2160p. It requires a VRR display.

God of War Ragnarok will be out on November 9, 2022, for the PS4 and PS5. The game has a rather large file size while an update is also available to download ahead of its launch. It is being developed by Sony Santa Monica Studio.
