Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom | Where To Find Diamond?

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, diamonds hold great value and serve multiple purposes.

They can be sold to earn rupees or fused with a sword to enhance its power. However, finding diamonds can be a challenge. While there isn’t a surefire strategy to acquire a large number of diamonds quickly, there are reliable methods to ensure a steady supply of these precious gemstones. In this guide, we will explore various ways to find diamonds in Tears of the Kingdom, including guaranteed locations in shrines, mining ore deposits, defeating Talus bosses, and utilizing the unique behavior of the Dondons.

Guaranteed Diamond Locations in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom:

Several shrines offer diamonds as rewards for completing Rauru’s Blessing challenges. These shrines are known to contain diamonds:

  1. Jochi-ihiga Shrine, Akkala Highlands (3811, 1218, 0090)
  2. Maoikes Shrine, Lanayru Wetlands (2277, 0150, 0079)
  3. Sihajog Shrine, Lanayru Great Spring Sky (4544, -0845, 1121)
  4. Yomizuk Shrine, Lanayru Great Spring (4412, -0610, 0334)
  5. Mayaotaki Shrine, Hebra Mountains (-0956, 3535, 0234)

While there may be additional shrines containing diamonds, these five locations have been confirmed at the time of writing.

Mining Diamonds from Ore Deposits:

Exploring the caves scattered across Hyrule will often lead you to ore deposits containing diamonds. Breaking open these deposits is beneficial not only for acquiring diamonds but also for obtaining other valuable gemstones. Although diamonds are not exceedingly common from ore deposits, you can still find a few during your journey. The Goron caves along Death Mountain are rich in ore deposits, and following the path from the Emergency Shelter in Lookout Landing to Hyrule Castle allows you to collect both bomb flowers and precious gems. Keep an eye out for mineral deposits with yellowish bumps and sparkles, as they are more likely to yield rare gemstones such as diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and topaz.

Beating Talus Bosses for Diamonds:

Talus, the colossal rock golem boss enemies found throughout Hyrule, can drop diamonds upon defeat. While diamonds may not be a common drop, various types of Talus have been observed to yield them. Whether it’s a fire Talus or a regular one, taking down these formidable foes presents an opportunity to obtain diamonds. The exact drop rate for diamonds from Talus battles is unknown, but if you come across a Talus during your adventures and seek diamonds, it is worth engaging in the battle.

Getting Diamonds from Dondons:

Surprisingly, there are tusked creatures called Dondons that can produce rare ore when fed luminous stones. While this method may seem peculiar, it has proven to be effective in obtaining diamonds, albeit with a rarity similar to other methods. Near Lakeside Stable in southern Akkala, there is a dondon sanctuary. Glide down from the nearby Joju-u-u Shrine toward the campfire in that area. Place a luminous stone in front of each of the five dondons and observe as they consume the stones. Afterward, leave the area and return approximately 10 minutes later to collect the items they have produced. It’s important to note that the dondons are a bit shy when it comes to “pooping” rare ore in front of you, so it’s best to give them some privacy before collecting your loot. Repeat the process as desired to obtain more diamonds.
