The remastered and expanded version of Sonic Colors “Sonic Colors: Ultimate” is finally released for PC, PS4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. There is new content and a new challenge mode added in the Ultimate version of Sonic Colors. This new mode is called “Rival Rush”, it’s a racing mode in which you will have to compete with the Metallic version of Sonic in a race. Sonic Colors: Ultimate – How To Unlock The Rival Rush Mode?
You will have to collect Red Star Rings to unlock the Rival Rush mode in Sonic Colors: Ultimate. These Red Star Rings are spread around different stages. The number of Red Star Rings required to unlock the Rival Rush mode is not specified by the game so you will have to collect as many as you can while completing each stage of Sonic Colors: Ultimate.
There are 30 Red Star Rings available on each planet of the game. When you will collect enough Red Star Rings a notification will appear on the screen informing you that a hidden level has been unlocked. You should complete your initial playthrough of the world first because you will need a certain Wisp ability which can only be activated after you complete your initial playthrough to collect some of the Red Star Rings.
Once the Rival Rush mode is unlocked you will be able to compete with the Metallic Version of Sonic in a 1-1 race. It’s best to complete the game before starting this race because the wisp you get later in the game will be helpful to win the race against the Metallic version of Sonic in Rival Rush mode of Sonic Color: Ultimate.
