THQ Nordic has officially announced that its popular underwater adventure game, “SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake,” will receive a next-generation upgrade. The Gen9 version of the game is slated for release on October 16, 2023. Existing owners of the game will be eligible for a free Gen9 upgrade, along with additional updates via an incoming patch.

- New Feature: Photo Mode with 19 different filters to enhance your in-game pictures.
- New Costumes: “King Doubloon” for collecting all doubloons and “Plush Gary” for unlocking all awards.
- Improvements (PS5 only): Support for DualSense controller audio output and adaptive triggers for specific actions.
For Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One:
