Resident Evil 4 Remake Reportedly Set to Receive Playable Demo Today

According to leaked information from a Twitch ad, Capcom is releasing a demo for its upcoming Resident Evil 4 Remake today on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC. The demo will be available on all platforms and will be released during Capcom’s Showcase event today at 2 PM PST / 5 PM EST / 10 PM GMT. This release comes as a surprise to fans who have been eagerly anticipating the remake.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is set to release on March 24, 2023, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S. This survival horror game is a remake of the 2005 original, featuring the United States Strategic Command Special Agent Leon S. Kennedy, who must save Ashley Graham, daughter of the President of the United States, from the violent cult of Los Illuminados in a Spanish village.

The game offers an over-the-shoulder third-person shooter gameplay experience and features six optional control schemes, including one styled after the original game’s control scheme. The remake also offers modernized and enhanced visuals, character designs, and backgrounds.

Players will use an “attache case” to organize their inventory, and the Merchant returns, allowing players to buy, upgrade, and trade items. The Merchant will provide new side quests that players can complete during the main story. In combat, Leon can roundhouse kick enemies to push them away, and the game features new parry mechanics, including blocking attacks from a chainsaw with a knife.
