Sony has pushed out a new PS5 firmware update 22.01-05.50.00.08 today. The changes mention a new ALLM option and performance improvements.
ALLM, also known as Auto Low Latency Mode, is supported on some display sets. It allows the console to automatically adjust to low input lag. It has been added in a new update.
Here are the details shared on the new firmware by Sony.
- If you’re using a TV that supports ALLM (auto low latency mode), you can adjust
ALLM settings in [Settings] > [Screen and Video] > (Video Output] > [ALLM].
- If you select [Automatic], your TV will automatically switch to low-latency mode
while playing games.
- If you select [Off], ALLM won’t be enabled, except during VRR (variable refresh
- This system software update improves system performance.
