Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom – Purah Pad:

How To Get The Purah Pad:

  1. At the beginning of the game, as you leave the Room of Awakening and descend to the first major sky islands, a Zonai Steward Construct will give you the Purah Pad.
  2. To access the Purah Pad, press the “-” button on the left-hand side of the Switch controller.

Understanding the Purah Pad’s Functions:

Character Profiles: The Character Profiles tab provides background information on each character, making it useful for those who didn’t play Breath of the Wild. It also explains the journey and changes experienced by familiar characters since the previous game.

Adventure Log: The Adventure Log displays all your active quests and completed quests. It categorizes quests into Main Quests, Side Adventures, Shrine Quests, and Side Quests. The Adventure Log updates as you progress through quests, providing additional insights.

Map: The Map on the Purah Pad showcases the entire Hyrule, including its surface, sky, and underground areas. It allows you to place markers, zoom in to identify specific locations, and fast travel to previously examined Skyview Towers or Shrines.

Album: In the Album tab, you can store numerous pictures captured during your adventure. This feature allows you to revisit memorable moments. The Album in Tears of the Kingdom has been improved, allowing you to save more pictures and select multiple images at once.

Hyrule Compendium: The Hyrule Compendium is a vast collection that catalogs creatures, monsters, materials, equipment, and treasure types. Although it isn’t initially available on the Purah Pad, it can be unlocked early in the game. To complete the compendium, you must register every entry.

Upgrades to the Purah Pad:

  1. Camera Work In The Depths Quest: After descending to Hyrule, undertake the Camera Work In The Depths quest and explore a Chasm near Lookout Landing. Completing this quest unlocks the Camera, Album, and Hyrule Compendium tabs on the Purah Pad.
  2. Shrine Sensor: To obtain the Shrine Sensor feature, complete both the Camera Work In The Depths quest and the A Mystery In the Depths quest. The Shrine Sensor emits a sound to alert you when a Shrine is nearby. Visit the Hateno ancient research lab to improve the Shrine Sensor, enabling you to track registered creatures and objects from the Hyrule Compendium.
  3. Hero’s Path Mode and Travel Medallion: Tears of the Kingdom includes the Hero’s Path Mode and Travel Medallion from Breath of the Wild’s expansion pack. Hero’s Path Mode tracks your movements and deaths over the past 200 hours of gameplay. The Travel Medallion allows you to select any location on the map and fast travel to it later.
