Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Queen Gibdo Boss:
How to Beat Queen Gibdo in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom:
Phase 1:
The battle against Queen Gibdo occurs in three phases. In the initial phase, all damage dealt to Queen Gibdo is negated, but Link is vulnerable. Use Riju’s Electric Field ability to unleash a powerful arrow shot that will strip Queen Gibdo of her armor. While she is vulnerable to physical attacks, be cautious of her retaliatory tornadoes. Avoid frontal assaults and her ground slam attack. Utilize Master Sword to chip away at her health. When Queen Gibdo’s health reaches 80%, she will retreat to the top of the Lightning Temple.
Phase 2:
After charging all four batteries in the Lightning Temple, Link, and Riju can ascend to the top of the tower for the second phase of the battle. Queen Gibdo will reappear with full health and armor. Use Riju’s Electric Field to remove her armor quickly. Failure to do so may result in Queen Gibdo charging at Riju and disrupting the electric field. Once her armor is gone, exploit her vulnerability by attacking her limbs with the Master Sword. When she collapses, focus on her face to deal massive damage. Repeat this process until her health is halfway depleted.
Phase 3:
In the third and final phase, four pillars with purple flowers will emerge, spawning flying Gibdos to aid Queen Gibdo. Target the purple flowers on the pillars first using Riju’s Electric Field or Bomb Arrows. Destroying the flowers will remove their protection from sunlight, which weakens Gibdo. Protect yourself from the approaching Gibdos using the pillars of light. Defeat the flying Gibdos while avoiding Queen Gibdo’s attacks. Upgrade your armor to minimize damage. Once the flying Gibdos are eliminated, continue using Riju’s Electric Field and gradually chip away at Queen Gibdo’s health until she is defeated.
The reward for Defeating Queen Gibdo:
Vanquishing Queen Gibdo rewards Link with an additional Heart Container and Sage Riju’s avatar. Link forms a Vow with Riju, Sage of Lightning, granting him the ability to use Riju’s Electric Field whenever necessary. The completion of the Riju of Gerudo Town main quest and the Regional Phenomena main quest is marked by Queen Gibdo’s defeat.
By following these strategies and staying persistent, you can overcome the challenges presented by Queen Gibdo and emerge victorious in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Good luck on your journey!
