- Connecting to the internet and trading Pokemon is a great way to expand your Dex and build your dream team.
- To get started, you’ll need to open the in-game menu using the X button.
- From there, press the L button to open the Poke Portal menu.
- Here, you’ll find options to trade with nearby players, or with players connected through the internet.
- Select Link Trade to initiate an online trade.
- Once you’ve selected Link Trade, you’ll be asked to enter a trade code.
- This is a unique code set for each trade session, so you’ll need to ensure that your trade partner also has the same code in order to connect.
- Enter the code, select ‘Begin Searching’ from the menu, and you’ll be taken to the trade screen.
- You can choose the Pokemon you want to trade from your party by pressing the A button.
- You’ll also see the Pokemon your trade partner has chosen displayed at the bottom of the screen.
- Double-check that your trade partner has selected the same Pokemon as you before confirming the trade.
- If the trade partner has chosen a different Pokemon, exit the trade and search again.
- Once both players have selected the same Pokemon and confirmed the trade, the trade window will close automatically.
- Your Pokemon will be traded, and you’ll be notified that the trade has been successful.
