Achievements and Trophies for the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake have been leaked online. Originally developed collaboratively by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, this third-person action-adventure puzzle-platforming video game is set to offer a refreshed experience of the beloved original.
The game was first revealed on September 10, 2020, during the UbiForward event. However, its journey to release has been fraught with delays and changes. Initially scheduled for a January 21, 2021 release, the date was first pushed to March 18, 2021, and then indefinitely postponed in February 2021. The project encountered significant challenges leading to a long period of being stuck in development hell. It was eventually reassigned in May 2022 to Ubisoft Montreal, the studio behind the original game.
The remake aims to incorporate elements previously cut from the original game. In an intriguing move, the developers consulted Jordan Mechner, the original creator, to reimagine and enrich the game’s narrative and design. Adding to the excitement, Yuri Lowenthal reprises his role as the voice of the Prince, complemented by a motion capture performance, while Supinder Wraich steps in as the new voice of Farah.
The list of achievements and trophies provides a glimpse into the game’s structure and challenges. These include ‘Sand Bearer’ for obtaining the Dagger of Time, ‘Visionary’ for witnessing the first vision, and ‘The Big Fight’ for defeating the Vizier.
Ubisoft has recently announced that the game will not be released in the fiscal year 2022-2023. The slow pace of development, attributed to limited technical support at Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune, ultimately led to the shift back to Ubisoft Montreal. This move is seen as a strategic decision to leverage the original production team’s expertise in bringing the remake to fruition.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is currently slated for consoles and PCs.
