PixelJunk Eden 2 Joins Steam Next Fest with an Exclusive Demo

Q-Games, an independent developer based in Kyoto, Japan, has announced that their upcoming game, PixelJunk Eden 2, will be part of Steam Next Fest. The game is the latest installment in the award-winning PixelJunk series, which celebrated its 15th anniversary this year. Directed by multimedia artist Baiyon, PixelJunk Eden 2 aims to offer a meditative platforming experience. To give players a taste of what’s to come, a free exclusive demo is available for download on the game’s Steam page from October 10th to October 16th.

The demo allows players to explore two unique gardens as they search for the elusive Spectra. For the first time, the game will be available in full 4K resolution, enhancing the visual experience. The demo is a limited-time offering, available only until the conclusion of Steam Next Fest on October 16th.

Gameplay Features

PixelJunk Eden 2 offers both single-player and local co-op modes, where up to two players can navigate through the visually stunning gardens of Eden. The game features a dynamic environment that evolves based on player actions. By collecting pollen and filling seeds, players can sprout new plants, thereby opening up new traversal opportunities and restoring life to the gardens.

Additional Features:

  • Over 20 unique playable characters, known as Grimps, each with distinct abilities.
  • More than 40 game-altering Spices to collect and customize gameplay.
  • An Infinite Mode for endless exploration.
  • A psychedelic soundtrack composed by Baiyon.
  • A new control system inspired by the original PixelJunk Eden.

The full version of PixelJunk Eden 2 is set to launch later this year on multiple platforms, including Steam, the Epic Games Store, and PlayStation. The full game promises many expansive and visually varied gardens, along with additional gameplay elements that make each playthrough a unique experience.
