Electronic Arts (EA) is gearing up for the release of its latest magic first-person shooter, Immortals of Aveum, in July 2023, based on recent leaks. Developed by Ascendant Studios and published under the EA Originals umbrella, the game is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
Billbil-kun, who has previously demonstrated accuracy in leaking PlayStation Plus’ free games before official announcements, has suggested a specific release date of July 20th. Although EA and Ascendant Studios have not confirmed this information, the dataminer’s track record lends credibility to the claim.
Immortals of Aveum, developed by the creative minds behind Call of Duty and Dead Space, has been described by EA as a “groundbreaking new single-player, first-person magic shooter” featuring a “visceral, cinematic campaign.” The official teaser trailer for the game, released during The Game Awards 2022, has successfully piqued the interest of fans.
Set in the original fantasy universe of Aveum, Immortals of Aveum is a single-player first-person magic shooter teeming with magic and conflict, with the world on the brink of oblivion. Ascendant Studios’ debut intellectual property (IP) aims to redefine the genre with its visceral cinematic campaign experience, challenging conventional expectations of first-person shooters.
In Aveum’s universe, magic-wielding individuals utilize sigils to focus their power, making it more potent and deadly in combat. Sigils play a crucial role in Immortals’ magic shooter action and immersive campaign experience. Built on Unreal Engine 5, Immortals of Aveum is set to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2023.
Ascendant Studios has partnered with EA Originals to release its debut title. Founder Bret Robbins, who has directed popular games like Dead Space and three Call of Duty titles, established Ascendant Studios in 2018 to create original and epic games. The collaboration with EA Originals is the next step in bringing their magic shooter concept to life, with a team consisting of industry-leading talent responsible for award-winning and best-selling projects like Dead Space, Call of Duty, Halo, and BioShock.
