Gotham Knights is an upcoming action game from Warner Bros. Montreal. The game won’t support 60 FPS on consoles, at least at launch.
While there is some time before the official launch of the game, it has been reported that there is no graphics option available for PS5 or Xbox Series X consoles. This means the game is essentially locked to a 4K and 30 FPS mode on these consoles while those with a PC can still try to run it at 60 FPS.
The source of this story is a user who has managed to get an early copy of the game. According to the user, there is no graphics mode to select in the game which means by default, it will be running at 4K and 30 FPS, preferably with RT support.
There is also an alleged screenshot out in the wild showing the graphics menu from the game and it does appear to lack any option to tweak the frame rate or the visuals.
“I can confirm the PS5 version at least does not come with any graphical options other than Brightness, Contrast, Saturation and HDR. I can also confirm the game does not run at 60 fps, ” said the user who has access to an early copy. This also matches up with the alleged screenshot from the game.
The user also mentions downloading a 15 GB patch but apparently, it doesn’t appear to add any new graphics mode. “I also had to download a 15.314 GB patch when installing the game. That doesn’t mean there won’t be another patch before or at release, but for the moment, no graphical modes are present on PS5, as I said.” That could change at the launch of the game, or post-launch if possible.
Gotham Knights was originally supposed to launch on the PS4 and Xbox One as well but these versions were canceled. The game is out on October 21, 2022, for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
