Cyberpunk 2077 has been given a native PS5 version in the PlayStation Database, implying that CD Projekt Red will be releasing it shortly.
In Q1 2022, Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to receive a next-generation upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X owners. The upgrade will be free for existing users and will include support for next-generation consoles, as well as possible ray-tracing implementation and other features.
While the update has yet to be released, a prominent PlayStation Store tracker has uncovered a record in the database for the PS5 version. This indicates that an announcement for this version will be made shortly.
CD Projekt Red looks to be aiming for a fresh appearance for the game. If we presume this is the icon displayed on the PlayStation 5, it differs from the previous one, which merely featured the game’s logo on it.
The account that shared this information also stated that they expect this version to be released in mid-February/March, which corresponds to the game’s Q1 2022 launch date for the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions.
