In Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom, there are numerous quests to undertake, but few are as important as the ones that involve solving the Regional phenomenon throughout the world, as they ultimately lead to the game’s new temples.
To gain access to the Water Temple in Zora’s Domain, you must first complete the quest chain, and one of its integral parts is The Broken Slate quest. This quest follows shortly after the Restoring the Zora Armor quest and involves assisting an elderly Zora named Jiahto in deciphering an ancient text. To successfully complete this quest, follow the guide below.
Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom – Broken Slate Quest:
Step 1: Initiate the Quest To begin The Broken Slate quest, speak with both Yona in Zora’s Domain and Sidon in Mipha Court. Eventually, they will inform you that Jiahto, an elderly Zora, is currently investigating ancient texts. Approach Jiahto to start the quest officially.
Step 2: Finding Jiahto at Toto Lake Toto Lake is located just north of Zora’s Domain, situated on a hill. The easiest way to reach it is by Fast Traveling to Ihen-a Shrine near Prince Sidon at Mipha Court and then Paragliding down to the lake. Once you arrive, you’ll notice a Zora guard named Dunma overlooking a small cave. Enter the cave to find Jiahto.
Step 3: The Broken Slate Puzzle Solution Jiahto requires the missing pieces of the slate to decipher its contents, which holds a crucial clue for accessing the sky. As you exit the cave, look to the left side, and you’ll spot a large stone buried under some rubble. Use Ultrahand to highlight and extract it. Rotate the stone to the correct position and insert it into the slate mural next to Jiahto. With the slate complete, Jiahto can now read its entirety. This will provide you with a vital hint for entering the Water Temple and reward you with the Clues to the Sky quest.
By following these steps, you will successfully progress through The Broken Slate quest in Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom. Assist Jiahto in deciphering the ancient text and uncovering the crucial clue needed to access the Water Temple.
