The Makasura Shrine is situated in the West Necluda region, just south of Kakariko Village. To be more precise, the coordinates are (1770, -1050, 0166). Consult our shrine locations page or interactive Hyrule map for additional guidance.
Makasura Shrine Puzzle: An Upright Device Solution
Once inside the Makasura Shrine, you may initially be perplexed by the seemingly empty main chamber. However, if you look up, you’ll discover the path you need to take. Follow these steps to conquer the “An Upright Device” trial:
- Proceed to the far end of the room, underneath the slight edge. Utilize the Ascend ability to ascend through the ledge onto the next level.
- In the subsequent room, you’ll come across a grate attached to a Zonai device. Move the grate close to the edge and activate the Zonai device to make the grate stand upright. This allows you to climb it and reach the platform, like so:
- Jump off the platform and employ your glider to cross the gap into the next area.
- Head straight ahead, and you’ll spot another L-shaped grate. Grab it and carry it over to the left-side wall of the area. Activate the Zonai device to make the grate stand upright. Climb it and use your glider once again to enter the gated-off area.
- Inside the gated area, you’ll find three items: a Zonai device, a grate with a bowl attached, and a ball. Attach the Zonai device to the end opposite the bowl on the grate. Fuse it in the same manner as you did previously in the shrine.
- Take the ball and place it into the bowl. Here’s what the setup should look like:
- Activate the Zonai device to make the grate stand upright, propelling the ball into the other chamber. The gate on the opposite side of the chamber should open once the ball reaches the indent.
- Before leaving this chamber, move the grate to the back side of the room, opposite the gate, where you’ll find a treasure chest on a ledge. Open it to obtain a Fairy Tonic.
- Once you’ve retrieved the Fairy Tonic, return the grate to the gated wall. Climb it, jump off, and use your glider to exit the room and return to the original chamber.
- The newly opened room contains another grate with a bowl attached. Bring it into the main chamber and attach it to the other grate with the ledge, as shown:
- Ensure that the Zonai device on the end is as close to the edge as possible before climbing into the bowl.
- From the bowl, use an arrow to activate the Zonai device. Your makeshift lever will launch you into the air, and once you reach the peak of your leap, glide across to the opposite side of the gap.
- Examine the sigil at the other side of the room to complete the shrine and obtain the Light of Blessing.
