The Temple of Time is an important landmark in the world of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
It is one of the first places you’ll encounter, but you’ll need to wait until you’re more powerful before you can actually make your way through it. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to unlock and complete the Temple of Time in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Unlocking the Temple of Time
To unlock the Temple of Time, you’ll first need to approach it on Great Sky Island. As you approach, you’ll encounter a Soldier Construct that will give you your first shield upon its defeat. You’ll also receive a rusty sword, which is much more useful than the tree branches you’ve been collecting.
When you try to enter the Temple of Time, Rauru will appear and explain that you need to enter a place filled with “sacred light” to restore enough power to Link’s arm so that the Temple can be opened. He will point you towards the Ukouh Shrine, which you’ll need to complete before you can attempt to enter the Temple of Time.
After completing the Ukouh Shrine, you’ll need to complete both In-Isa Shrine and Gutanbac Shrine before you can enter the Temple of Time.
Completing the Temple of Time
Once you’ve completed all three shrines, you can enter the Temple of Time. Examine the glowing orb in front of Link to trigger a cutscene that unlocks Link’s Recall ability, which allows him to reverse an object’s movement until it goes back to where it was.
To complete the Temple of Time, you’ll need to use the Recall ability on the left or right cog in front of Link to reverse its direction. Then, jump on one of its platforms and onto the stationary platform in the middle of the cogs. Repeat this process with the central cog to reach the next stationary platform.
Once you’ve reached the end of the Temple of Time, you’ll need to offer all four Light of Blessings to the Goddess Statue to trade them for a Heart Container. This will give Link enough hearts to make it through the door that previously depleted his health.
Exiting the Temple of Time
After making it through the door, you’ll be able to exit the Temple of Time. Walk ahead until you reach a dead end, then use the Ascend ability to travel up to the next platform. Repeat this process once more before examining the gold, glowing orb and enjoying the final cutscene.
To leave the platform, dive down into one of the lakes across the Kingdom of Hyrule. You’ll then be ready to explore the rest of the world of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
