The crossover strategy video game created by Ubisoft that featured Mario and the Rabbids is getting a sequel called Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. This time around, the plumber with the mustache and the rest of his motley crew of outcasts go on an adventure into space to put a stop to Cursa, the monster that is responsible for spreading Darkness over the universe. - To put it in perspective, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle had a total of just eight playable characters, whereas Sparks of Hope included nine.
- In this installment, Yoshi and Rabbid Yoshi have been replaced by Bowser, Rabbid Rosalina, and a brand new villain that goes by the moniker Edge.

- Despite the relatively small cast, Ubisoft and Nintendo have said that additional unlockable characters will be introduced, and they have stated that this would begin with the third piece of downloadable content for Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope Rayman.
- It is anticipated that Rayman DLC 3 will work in a manner similar to that of the Donkey Kong Adventure DLC for Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle.
- This DLC was released for Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle and included both Donkey Kong and Rabbid Cranky Kong in the game.
